Irish oatmeal, honey, strawberries and a couple tiny squirts of light aerosol whipped cream. YUM.
Well that's what we eat most mornings anyway. As long as we have strawberries. If we don't have yummy delicious strawberries we'll usually put a bit of brown sugar in, sometimes some bananas. I love raspberries with honey too.
This is why I've been able to eat healthy lately. Stuff like this tastes so dang good!
But an ethical dilemma has arisen concerning my oatmeal for tomorrow morning.
I only have two strawberries left. So do I split the skimpy amount of strawberries between the two of us? Do I take it all for myself and skimp Max out? Should I be a noble sacrificing mom and give them all to Max?
It's kind of a hard call. What do I do?
But keep in mind, these are not the only fruits or vegetables he or I will eat during the day. So no worries there.

Yum, I wish it was breakfast time right now.

I love Irish oatmeal, but I wouldn't be as healthy as you. I need some honey or something to make it all sweet. You are doing great to feed you kiddo less sugar.
Yes, yes. Quite the dilemma. I have been known to hide up treats unto the season thereof, and not share them with children. My mother once took me to task for this, saying that i shouldn't be serving the children hot dogs while the grown-ups had steak. I wrote back that kids are pretty much like dogs, and when you give them the good stuff, they just swallow it whole and look for more without even tasting anything, and that i wasn't about to waste good treats like that.
I think I still feel that way. Hmmmm.
I think one should get strawberries and one should get something hearty like chocolate chips.

I'm with Guy. Add some chocolate sauce to Max's bowl and enjoy the strawberries! :D
What is Irish Oatmeal?! and I've never thought of doing fresh fruit w/whip cream. I always dump a ton of brown sugar on it making it not so healthy! HA!
Yeah, sometimes I fake Maggie out by standing up while I eat so she can't see what's in my bowl as opposed to hers.
So turns out the two strawberries left were pretty huge, so there was enough for the both of us, although I have to say I took the most. "the biggest dog gets the biggest bone" you know.
But now I'm prepared for next time this comes up. Thanks for all the good ideas, guys!
And Tiff, I found the Irish oatmeal at the grocery store. It's McCann's or something, and it actually comes from Ireland. You cook it prettymuch just like normal oatmeal but it turns out really creamy and smooth just how I like it! I highly recommend it.
HA! Funny! Your dad took my comment right out of my mouth. HEY! Give it back.
I say you birthed him. Time for him to feel what sacrifice is. Give him the strawberries and you take the chocolate chips. :D
A mom has to put her own oxygen mask on before she puts her child's on when their in a plane crash. The same is true for strawberries. Just a legally binding law that is too big for the likes of us to try to kick against.
Can I come have breakfast with you and Max?
