Some people have math skills, some people have nun-chucks skills, some people have dentistry skills. Some people have eating and forking skills. The latter would be our Sandy.
And you want proof?
Here's a video. He actually gets a banana on his fork completely on his own, and eats it! Am I just a biased mom thinking he's brilliant, or is it impressive for a barely one year old to use a fork functionally (albeit one time out of 100)?

::phoenix in january pt 2::
We made some very exciting and awesome videos with our new little waterproof video camera when we were in Phoenix. We're putting it all together into a big long one which will probably be way too long for youtube, but here's a teaser for you. The underwater footage is so fun!
A little more Phoenix to come, hopefully tomorrow!

::just a teeny video::
Mostly for the fun of the grandparents!!
We think little Sandy is so adorable. He's almost figured out how to make his hands do what he wants--once in a while--sort of.

::nature max::
I spent the last day editing videos of our camping trip. I think Max might be the next Jeff Corwin (as long as he has a really good video editor!)
This is kind of long--about seven minutes, but it's really cute. So I'd say if you're a relation and you think Max is cute, you should definitely check it out. I hope the quality is ok. I hate how bad things look on youtube!!

::highland fling--more::
Max went crazy dancing to the tunes his Grandpa Ken's band was playing at the Highland fling. He was seriously rocking out. The fact that he was wearing his awesome sunglasses and Uncle Kelly's hat didn't hurt the coolness factor either.
I'm just glad Kelly had his little camera to capture some of this dancing, because it was seriously hilarious. The best stuff was when he didn't realize anybody was watching. His serious face was so funny. For the last song he went right up to the front and rocked out. I've never seen more intense dancing.

Goofball.

::christmas eve::

I love christmas eve! I think in some ways it's more of a fun day than christmas is. It's magical and fun, and as an adult usually there isn't too much work to be done--at least hopefully there's not a lot of shopping or whatever left on christmas eve!
Today Max and I have been taking it easy. Kris had to work, which was unfortunate--and he had a very full day. But luckily he finally got done, and we were able to finish the day off right, with a dinner out and new pajamas.
Anyway, today Max and I enjoyed some seriously good smells. I love my christmas candles.

We made some last minute goodies.

Mmmm, these are so good. It's lucky they're only allowed around at christmas time!
We enjoyed the fruits of our cookie labors the other day. So yummy.

We love christmas cookies.

Max really enjoyed jumping on the big bubble wrap that came in the package Kari sent us. It's lucky we live on the first floor.

I have to admit I enjoyed jumping on it myself.
Max got to enjoy the last treat from the advents calendar his Grandma Kathy made for him. He's really enjoyed that calendar, and it's so cute.

I like for him to be able to keep track of the days, and the calendar really helps.

He's so cute.

Finally I want to leave you tonight with Max's song--Away in a Manger. He was supposed to sing it in sacrament meeting on sunday with me on the guitar, but we had a snow day. We're supposed to do it this coming sunday. We'll see. He refuses to do it for friends and family, but swears he'll be able to do it in sacrament meeting. We'll see I guess.
But this video is cute. Ignore my bad guitar though, it's very shaky!
And don't let all Max's spinning and constant motion make you seasick--OH, and ignore my bum which fills the whole screen at one point.
And merry christmas!

|| Super-Cool Sledding ||
What could be a better christmastime activity than sledding?! Max has never yet gotten much of a chance to play in the show. It doesn't really snow as much out here in Missouri as it does in Utah or Colorado, and the snow usually ends up pretty icy. So anyway, we had a bit of an ice storm last week, and then this last weekend there was a fun snowstorm. The ice with the snow on top of it made our local park into a sledding mecca. It was great.
I was a little worried though because Max doesn't have any snowpants. He was just wearing his jeans with PJ pants underneath. By the end he was looking like a walking snowman, I figured he was soaked. So I decided we should leave and it broke his heart. We told him he could sled two more times and he said "I need to go LOTS more times!!" We got him home and he was cold and freezing but dry, thank goodness.
It was a blast! Hopefully we'll get to do it a couple more times before the winter's up.
Here's a fun video I made, it's kinda like being there except not as cold. Enjoy!
