::walkin' boy::

So I have a ton of stuff to post about, namely:
Sandy's early walking
Swimming in Phoenix
Slight living room remodel
Max baptism and family visit
Disneyland

Holy cow, that's a lot! But I'm going to do it (hmmm, we'll see I guess.)

So without delay I am going to post a bunch of pictures I took of some of Sandy's early walking. I was waiting to edit these photos, but I'm just biting the bullet and posting them as they are so that they get posted. They're too cute to leave behind.

It took him forever to even think that walking was worth trying, and when he finally started he was pretty good at it. He started with his little push toy. When he got really interested in that I knew he was close.

And it was just SO so SO cute. And I was afraid every second that he was going to fall and smoosh all his teeth on the bricks. He was so unsteady at first! But he's pretty great at it now.

Anyway, on to the photos. Lots and lots of photos.

Monkey shoes help anybody learn to walk.

This was me trying to catch Sand as he walked/fell towards me and take a picture at the same time. He was walking between Max and I and having a blast.

A few days later here he is on Valentine's day looking very Bigfoot-esque.

It's hard work with that tongue sticking out.

This one cracks me up.

He's going for the good stuff cabinet.

He obviously knows he did an excellent job.

And finally, here are a few shots from Max's birthday. Max was playing with his new car tracks and it was very fascinating to the baby.

He really just doesn't look that well balanced, does he? It's a crack up.

The little hands in the air is my favorite.

Concentration.

What a little doll-baby. We're so proud of his walking, although it does make him much less happy to just sit in my lap during church, darn it! Now of course he just wants to walk around and peek and flirt with everybody. Little stinker.

Pensive baby in Taos, back when we were there for the bike racing weekend.

To the more usual cheery baby.

I sure do love that Bumbo seat. I'd highly recommend it to anybody. It's been a lifesaver in a lot of situations where a high chair wasn't available or the floor just wasn't good for babies to hang out on. I usually just keep it in the car. It's what he always eats meals in at work when we're there.
Besides, his chubby little legs are so darn cute when they're squished into the seat. I love it!

::scootin' (backwards)::

(No chubby kids were harmed in the making of this blog post. Maybe they're weren't immediately picked up when they wanted to be, but that's a whole other story.)
IMG_4034
My little little guy has started scooting a bit. But not forward, where he'd like to go. Backwards. Always backwards. It's because he's not bothering to do anything with his feet, just his arms. And every time he pushes against the floor with his arms he goes backwards, which really isn't what he means or wants to do.
But I think he's happy to be moving at all.

Yesterday he was hanging out on the floor of our big room--the carpeted floor that I wanted just for things like this--scooting crawling babies.
He's on the floor playing with toys, and suddenly I realize that he's halfway across the room, but still facing me. At that point he was having a good time with it.

And he scooted on. Suddenly he realized that he had scooted rather close to the guitar that was leaning against one of the walls. This was cool and exciting.

And actually rather captivating, really.

This is where things started to fall apart. I think he really really wanted to go for the guitar. So he started to try.

He was extremely annoyed with me for giggling and taking pictures instead of helping him go the right direction. What a mean mom.
I'll have you know though, that as soon as I was done being amused and taking pictures of his frustration, I picked him up and comforted him. I had too, he's too adorable. I can't help it.

And that's the scooting report for today.

Is this the most ridiculously humongous baby contraption you've ever seen?

Good thing we have a big enough living room to handle it because the boy loves it. The toys captivate him and he's actually (finally) starting to use it to jump too which is so fun.

Check out those fat little piggies. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I could just eat him up. And I do.
