::yikes::

Sand doesn't like bathing right now. I mean REALLY doesn't like it. He only starts crying after the first nanosecond his littlest toe hits the water.
Grandma was bathing him today. He was mad. He got even more mad when I came in with the camera and took pictures instead of saving him.

::week 2::

Thought I'd follow up week one with pictures from Sandy's 2nd week here with us.
A couple of days are just phone pictures and a touch cruddy, and I've been struggling with the light in the house. It gets dark so early these days and the afternoon sun is very harsh. But I think the photos are fun anyway.

Day 8:

My aunt and uncle were on their way back home to TX when they had some car trouble. They had a forced layover at our house and we really enjoyed our time with them, watching football and playing with little squishy babies. In this picture we were out watching the sunset, which of course was gorgeous.

Day 9:

Daddy and son loooooong afternoon nap on the couch. Perfect sunday afternoon activity.

Day 10:

Boys in front of the fireplace. Kris loves lighting fires in there with the good smelling pinon wood.

Day 11:

I love this little elephant suit. He's already too big for it though. Baby on the table in the late afternoon light.

Day 12:

A couple of phone pictures. This was his first "bath". Mostly just a hair washing. He really enjoyed the hair washing part, not so much any of the rest of it.

Day 13:

This is a terrible phone picture, but it's supposed to show how dang long this baby is when he finally stretches his legs out instead of staying all crunched up like a little frog.

Day 14:

Saved the best for last. Does it get any cuter than these two brothers?

That's week two for you. It sure goes fast.

::He made it!::

We have a dog!
For anybody that doesn't already know, Sultan has been staying with my parents since we moved, in early May.
He flew in at the end of last week. Luckily Kris was able to leave work for an hour or so to help me get him. The kennel was heavy (and HUGE) and Sul was very anxious to get out of the airport. And by that I mean he totally dragged me out by the arm. So I don't think I could've done it without Kris.

Sultan didn't forget to bring his tongue with him.

Isn't he cute?
But I bet you didn't know that I have TWO dogs.
One's named Sultan, and the other one is named Sultan.

They both bark, and they both walk on all fours. It's just that Sultan number two has a little higher bark than Sultan number one. And it's nastier feeling when he licks you somehow.

This one thinks he's pretty funny.

Sultan didn't know we got another dog while he was gone. He was interested for a while--long enough to get inspired to stick his tongue out too.

The real Sultan was pretty dirty and smelly when he got to us. I think he was a little stressed out in the plane--maybe all dogs do this, but when Sultan gets stressed he gets a little smelly. Kind of doggy musky smelling. Anyway, he was due for a wash.

So I had the official dog washer and his lovely assistant do it.

Max made sure and sprayed everyone liberally. I'm sure Sultan appreciated it.
20080725-IMG_5938.JPG
Doesn't he look like he's having fun?
20080725-IMG_5939.JPG
Poor guy! He's really patient and good.

And he's cute when he's wet. The dog washer isn't so bad himself!

It took Sultan a couple of days to recover from his trip, but he seems to be ok and normalized now. He's eating food, so that's a good sign. He seems to like our place, and enjoys sitting by the door watching stuff happen. He's also enjoyed going out for jogs with Kris and I. There are a lot of different smells for him to explore out here.
We're glad to have him home.

We love Sultan!
