"Santa" and "his Elf"--looking like trouble to me.
He was the first kid in line because we had other places to be that night, and once it was time to actually climb up in Santa's lap he was just not so sure.
But he did it, and just stayed silent the whole time.
It didn't help that when he wouldn't say what he wanted for Christmas, Santa asked him if he wanted a new baby. At that point the answer was most definitely no, so that was the end of the interview, and off Sandy scooted as fast as he could.

Laps have never been my favorite place to sit, actually. It's been interesting, over the years, to observe the different reactions kids have to this whole Santa thing. Keven, for instance, was not happy with it at Santa's village. I don't remember, really, when you guys were little. I avoided the encounter whenever possible, anyway.
And the elf looks like your cousin Mat.
Pretty glorious Santa...but he's definitely scooting at the end, like you said.
