::first day and stuff::

Here's the man on his way to his official first day of school.
First Day
He said he had a great time, and his teacher told me he seemed very comfortable and played well with the other kids. And what more could a mother want to hear?

I'm going to have to become a little more efficient in order to get things done while he's gone though. Yesterday I dropped him off, ran to the post office, went the gym and by the time I got home and showered and stuff there were only a few minutes left for me to do some work. I'm sure I'll get it figured out.

On Sunday morning I wanted to take a picture of Max out on the front steps.

I wanted Grandpa Guy to see Max's cool new knit tie. Want to borrow it Dad?
And then this happened.

What kind of a face is this exactly? I'm just glad it didn't get stuck that way.
Then Kris came out and took a some pictures of Max and I.
I actually like these.

This last one is my favorite I think.
Max makes the goofiest faces in pictures sometimes. He does this thing where he thrusts his lower jaw forward and then he smiles that way. Do you recognize it? Have you seen it before?

Well anyway, then the best part of all this is that our upstairs neighbor was going out to his car and noticed we were taking pictures. He came over and asked if we wanted a picture with all three of us!
And since that almost never happens we said YES!
And he did a pretty good job too. Luckily I had my camera on some pretty user friendly settings.

There's max's goofy smile again, and Kris is squinting as always, but besides that it's a fun family picture!
But this one below is my favorite.

Well, besides the fact that my son has his eyes closed. Shouldn't I be able to somehow magically erase his eyelids in photoshop?

Anyway, I'm happy to have a couple of fun pictures of all three of us for once.

Today it's supposed to rain a lot in the afternoon. Since Max doesn't have school today we're taking it easy. Once it starts raining we'll probably watch some movies and I'll do some work. It should be cozy.
We have a Disney World vacation planned for December, and Max still hasn't seen many of the old standard Disney movies, so we're working on that. It's like a little Mom & Max research project. We've been getting the movies from the library right around the corner, so that's pretty fun. Yesterday we watched some old Mickey Mouse cartoons. Until yesterday Max didn't know who Donald Duck or Goofy was! Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Who knows.

Later tonight we're feeding all four of the elders (the missionaries) that are serving in our ward. It should be fun, but I expect to be cleaned out of food by the time they leave. They almost never get fed by members out here, so they're extra excited and probably extra hungry.

Have a happy Tuesday!

********Look how amazing my mom is. She fixed our family photo! I think she's magical.

How cool! I was going through our iPhoto and we don't have very many pictures of us three. These turned out great! Good luck with your research.

Love the pictures, but Max looks so big! Why do they have to grow up so fast? Just think this time next year we'll be blogging about kindergarten and our boys will be gone all day :(. Sad. Anyway, Disney World sounds really fun, I don't think Parker knows many of the classic disney characters either. Oh well, at least he knows mickey mouse even if only from pictures.

That first picture of Max on the steps he seriously looks ten years old! I wonder if he is contemplating life or how he can sneak and use the guitar hero guitars :) Love the family pictures!

Ginna

The family photos are great, and tell Max that his new knit tie is way cool. I'll be sure to bring one of mine when we come sometime and then we can be just like same when we go to church.

Love to you

Dad

mmmm I love that tie. Take a picture close up of the shape and design so I can try making one for Eliot.

When Ricky was the ward mission leader, we had to feed those elders all the time. Warning... they can go through an entire Gallon of vanilla ice cream to top their waffles.

You look gorgeous in those pictures ginna. your men are handsome, too. Playing well with other kids is what pre-school is all about. good for max. And going to the post office, gym, and showering sounds like an excellent use of time. oh to have time alone... sounds dreamy.

Wow! A preschooler! I remember Garrett's first day of preschool...I cried. When he started Kindergarten I cried. When he started first grade I cried. I didn't cry this year. BTW...I love your family picture. I've been trying to talk Gary into one. He said that we don't need one because we already know who lives in our house...hmmm....

and your mom did to a great job fixing the photo!

I know there is a lot I can say about how cute your family photo is, and how big max is, but the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw these pictures is your hair-its beautiful in these pictures. Not sure why that stuck out, but in each photo its gorgeous!
Anyway, we love you guys
